The state-of-the-art concerning the comparison and interconversion of mechanical and dielectric relaxational data of polymers is revisited. Different methods and strategies referred to the analysis of normal and segmental modes as well as secondary absorptions, are discussed. Current theories are illustrated with examples taken from the current literature
