The use of an air and moisture stable, commercially available (N-heterocyclic carbene)-Pd complex as precatalyst allows for the unprecedented Buchwald-Hartwig polyamination of aryl chlorides with primary amines. Different approaches for the end-capping of the polymers have also been evaluated.
