Mixed-Matrix Membranes for Gas Permeation Using a Zirconium Metal-Organic Frameworks
María del Mar has participate in the in the XIV Latin American Symposium on Polymers and XII Ibero American Congress on Polymers that has been taken place in Porto de Galinhas, Brazil. In this communication we present a modified synthesis and characterization of a Zirconium metal-organic frameworks, Zr-NaphtDC. The characterization of mixed-matrix membranes prepared by dispersing this Zr-MOF in polycarbonate is also described. A comparative study of the influence of the filler on gas transport in MMMs is made by measuring the permeation of different gases through the composite membranes containing 0, 0.05 and 0.20 weight fractions of fillers. The results show an increase in the permeability of all gases tested, due to an increase in both the membrane tortuosity and the sorption of gases in the composite membranes.
